Building the Fire

One of three loads of wood from the barn.
Dan and Jed getting the load down the hill.
 Setting up the chimney.

Getting those first couple boards set are the hardest part.

Don't be fooled - those planks are heavy! Not to mention they're over 100 years old!
 Taking shape.
View from the top of the hill.
Almost finished ... come see us light it Saturday night ... told you it would be BIG!
Fire will be rain or shine ... if it's raining it'll be a barn party.

Join the Fun!

Russel's Ride will take place this Saturday (Aug 13), leaving for Lafayette, IN at 9 am.  BUT if you don't have a motorcycle, or all day to ride to Purdue, plan on joining us for a "Russel-style" bonfire that night.  Historically "Russel-style" fires have been about 20 feet of burning material with flames reaching nearly 80 feet high!  For this fire the guys are using pine planks from the old bank barn.  It's expected to be BIG - we hope to see you there!
